

I have received some emails about difficulties with the automatic startup of MySQL 5.7 on CentOS 7+ systems. Mainly from those who follow my good old advice of not installing via RPM, but rather using the “tars.”
This, in fact, is mostly due to a little “trick” regarding the runlevel. It’s actually very simple — follow the steps below to copy the startup script and enable it:

From this point on, your MySQL can be controlled through systemctl [stop|start|enable|disable|status], and, obviously, it will shut down and start up along with your operating system.
