Help save MySQL

Help save MySQL
MySQL

Michael “Monty” Widenius launched a campaign called “Help MySQL.” The goal of the campaign is to gather signatures worldwide to present to the European Commission, aiming to raise awareness about the issue. The future of MySQL is uncertain if Oracle completes the acquisition of Sun. It’s unclear whether this will be for better or worse. In other words, no one can categorically affirm that Oracle will maintain MySQL’s development and continue to absorb billions of dollars in losses caused by customers migrating from Oracle to MySQL. Likewise, it’s impossible to predict that Oracle will simply pay $5.7 billion for Sun and then halt or sabotage MySQL.

Just in case, I’ve already signed the petition. Read in full what Monty has to say about this, and if you agree, sign the petition and help us “save” MySQL.
